Winner of four Academy Awards, including best picture, director, supporting actor and best editing, Clint Eastwood's 1992 masterpiece stands as one of the greatest and most thematically compelling Westerns ever made.
In 1956 John Ford reworked the archetypal Western gunslinger in his iconic film The Searchers. In 1992 Clint Eastwood went one step further in the darkly revisionist Western Unforgiven. Reworking the conventions of the Western genre that Ford helped create and Eastwood refined, this film confounded audience expectations on its release and rightly won Academy Awards for Best Film and Best Director.
The film’s Academy Award-winning editor Joel Cox, who has collaborated with Eastwood on over 30 films introduced this film with Empire Magazine's Kim Newman and Kyle Eastwood, son of Clint.
